    Description

    MysteryCon 2026!

    MysteryCon celebrates the mystery book genre with two days of after-hours events: a Mystery Authors Panel on Friday, September 25th, and the main MysteryCon event on Saturday, September 26th. The main event will feature mystery-themed activities and crafts, crime talks, author meet-and-greets, and plenty of tasty refreshments.

    Shifts Available:

    • Friday, September 24, 4:30-6pm (set-up and check-in) and/or 8-9:30pm (clean-up)- Author panel event. Volunteers can attend the event from 6-8pm.
    • Saturday, September 25, 1pm-4pm, (set-up) 4:30-6pm, and/or 6:30-8pm - Event set-up, attendee check-in, activity and craft support, food and supply replenishment. Volunteers are welcome to take a 1.5hr shift for a portion of the event on Saturday and then enjoy as an attendee!
    • Sunday. September 26, 9am-12pm - Event Cleanup

    Qualifications

    • Friendly, reliable, and comfortable interacting with the public
    • Able to follow directions and work as part of a team
    • Enthusiastic about supporting community events
    • Interest in libraries, books, or mystery fiction is a plus but not required

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to stand or walk for portions of the event
      • Some activities (crafting) can accommodate someone sitting the whole time
    • Ability to lift and carry light materials (up to 20 pounds) with or without accommodation
    • Ability to bend, reach, and move event supplies as needed

    TRAINING PROVIDED: Training and instructions will be provided by library staff.
