    Description

    Medical Advocacy Volunteer

    Support survivors in real time by providing in-person advocacy during hospital visits. Volunteers accompany survivors of sexual violence through the forensic exam process and law enforcement interviewing, and offer emotional support, resources, and a calming presence during a deeply vulnerable moment. This role requires on-call availability and completion of full volunteer training.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Must be 18 years of age or older
    • Have access to reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and appropriate level of insurance
    • Complete the 40-hour volunteer training
    • Commit to at least 20 service hours (four shifts) a month
    • Pass a criminal and child abuse/neglect background check
    • Willing to take an intersectional, anti-oppression approach to volunteering
