    Description

Volunteer at Unbridled Sanctuary đź’śMake a Difference in the Lives of Rescued Horses

Volunteers are the heart of Unbridled Sanctuary, vital to our mission of protecting horses from cruelty, exploitation, and slaughter.

Volunteering with US is a fulfilling way to make a tangible impact connect with like-minded animal lovers. By volunteering, you can directly improve the lives of our rescued horses. We offer a range of rewarding volunteer opportunities for all ages and abilities:

    • Stable Team: Work hands-on with our horses, assisting with feeding, grooming, mucking stalls, and more
    • Farm Operations Team: Help maintain our facilities, equipment, and grounds through repairs, landscaping, and weatherproofing
    • Outreach Programs: Serve as an ambassador, fundraiser, or marketing volunteer to share our mission and stories
    • Administrative Support: Contribute to daily operations through data entry, database maintenance, mailings, and donor relations

All volunteers must be 16+ and able to commit to at least 2 hours per week. Upon acceptance, you'll attend an orientation and sign key documents. Safety 101 Orientation (Mandatory)

All first-time participants, volunteers, and staff are required to complete our Safety 101 Orientation before interacting with any horses. This training is essential to our accreditation and to our responsibility to the horses who call Unbridled home.

    Safety 101 includes:

    • Sanctuary rules and conduct expectations
    • How horses see and interpret their world
    • Reading and responding to equine body language
    • Proper approach, handling, and leading practices
    • Barn and facility orientation
    • Emergency procedures and awareness
    • No individual may engage with a horse until this orientation is completed. Documentation and sign-in are required.

At Unbridled, we begin with one core principle: you are entering the horse’s home as a guest. Respect for the horse comes first. When we honor the horse’s perception, emotions, and personal space, we create safety for both horse and human. This is our standard, and it is non-negotiable.

Some positions may require an interview. Take the first step today by completing the form to share your availability and area of interest in volunteering. We look forward to welcoming you to the Unbridled Sanctuary family!
