Description
Volunteer Long-term Care (LTC) Ombudsman are compassionate advocates for individuals
living in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. LTC Ombudsman play a crucial role in
championing the rights and well-being of residents (who are primarily seniors), to ensure that
they are treated with respect and dignity. Key aspects include:
- Visit assigned facilities to speak with residents monthly
- Attend monthly resident council meetings to listen to concerns
- Advocate for residents, ensuring their rights are protected
- Volunteers will be assigned to facilities in Utah, Summit, or Wasatch Counties
- One year commitment required after certification is completed
- A minimum commitment of 5 hours per month is requested
