    About Wekume

Wekume is a community-driven organization dedicated to driving social impact, youth empowerment, and innovative solutions in women's and reproductive health. We leverage digital tools, community outreach, and creative storytelling to make a lasting difference.

    Role Overview

We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Junior Graphic Designer to join our growing communications team. In this role, you will help bring Wekume’s mission to life visually across our digital platforms, marketing campaigns, and community collateral. You will work closely with our Social Media and Marketing teams to produce clean, engaging, and on-brand graphics that resonate with our global audience.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Social Media Assets: Design eye-catching graphics, carousel slides, and short animated visuals for platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter/X.
    • Brand Consistency: Ensure all visual assets strictly align with Wekume’s brand guidelines, color palettes, and visual identity.
    • Collateral Support: Assist in designing digital assets for grant proposals, pitch decks, event flyers, newsletters, and promotional campaigns.
    • Team Collaboration: Brainstorm creative concepts with the marketing and partnership teams to communicate complex social impact topics clearly and visual-first.
    • Asset Organization: Maintain organized design files, templates, and digital resource folders for seamless team access.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Education & Experience: Degree or coursework in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on portfolio experience).
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency with design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), or Figma.
    • Design Basics: Strong foundational understanding of visual composition, typography, color theory, and digital asset formatting.
    • Portfolio: A portfolio or collection of sample designs demonstrating your style and technical ability.
    • Soft Skills: Excellent time management skills, strong communication, and a openness to receiving feedback and iterating on designs.
    • Passion: High enthusiasm for non-profit work, community empowerment, and youth advocacy.

    What We Offer

    • Hands-on experience building a real-world portfolio in the non-profit/social impact space.
    • Direct mentorship and collaboration with our leadership and communications team.
    • Flexible, remote work hours designed to fit around studies or other commitments.
    • A supportive, mission-driven team environment where your creative ideas are valued.
