Guiding a wish family through the wish granting process can take around 8-12 months. The time commitment is about 1-5 per month during this wish granting timeline.

Description
Availability:
- Wish discovery visits are typically scheduled for weekday evenings or weekends based upon the schedules of the wish granters and the wish family.
Required Training:
- Completion of online orientation.
- Completion of Wish Granter Training, followed by a wrap-up call. A self-guided virtual training taking approximately 1.5 hours is offered at any time, and 1 hour wrap-up calls are scheduled 12 times a year.
Desired Qualifications:
- Love for children and comfort interacting with children ages 2 ½ to 18.
- Excellent people skills and the ability to work with people from different backgrounds and children with various medical conditions.
- Creative energy with a desire to make each wish unique and magical.
- Organized and detail-oriented.
- Ability to respond to the family, fellow volunteers and Make-A-Wish staff in a timely manner.
- Resourcefulness and willingness to solicit in-kind donations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to meet face-to-face or virtually with the wish child and their family on several occasions including, but not limited to, the initial visit, send off/presentation party, or to deliver wish boosts
- Enough flexibility to schedule visits with the family and other volunteer wish granters.
- Ability to pass a background check
- Bilingual a plus
