A Volunteer Visit Can Make a Difference for patients- VITAS Healthcare- Many Locations and Opportunities available

Volunteers are critically important for visiting patients at the end of life that do not have family or friends that regularly visit. VITAS Healthcare is looking for Patient Volunteers to visit patients on hospice residing in nursing homes as well as their own homes. There are many locations and opportunities available including St. Louis County, St. Louis City, Jefferson County and more. Patient Care Volunteers offer companionship and socialization through friendly visits, play music and games, read to patients, and help in other meaningful ways.

VITAS Healthcare provides comprehensive training and orientation for hospice volunteering on communication skills, family dynamics and how to make a positive difference for patients and their caregivers. The days and times for volunteering are flexible according to your availability. Volunteers typically visit patients 1 to 2 hours a week or more.
