    Food Leads' Young Professionals Board

    Are you passionate about health equity and ready to make a difference in your community? Join the Young Professionals Board at Food Leads, a Columbus-based nonprofit working to reduce racial and socioeconomic health disparities that contribute to chronic disease.

    As a board member, you'll help expand the reach of Food Leads’ meal kit and nutrition education programs. You’ll play a key role in generating ideas and leading projects that strengthen our community outreach-all while developing valuable professional skills and connecting with other driven young professionals.

    Your Role as a Volunteer Board Member:

    • Attend weekly virtual meetings (45 minutes) and one in-person meeting each month (1 hour), held on Mondays at 7 PM
    • Work collaboratively with fellow board members in a supportive, mission-driven environment
    • Lead and contribute to community engagement, outreach, and fundraising projects aligned with your interests and skills—with the flexibility to work independently on your own time
    • Volunteer at hands-on events that directly support our programs
    • Access professional development opportunities, including presentations from leaders in various fields and mentorship offerings

    Examples of Projects & Volunteer Work:

    • Plan community events that support and engage our participants
    • Create outreach materials, including social media content and flyers
    • Develop strategies to effectively gather community feedback and uplift community voices in our work
    • Explore partnerships with local organizations and businesses
    • Volunteer at nutrition classes, fundraising and community events, meal kit packing sessions, and tabling opportunities
