    About Wevise

Wevise is a US-based nonprofit founded in 2022 on a simple mission: to make careers in technology more attainable and create diverse, inclusive communities where everyone belongs.

Our first program—a mentorship platform launched in June 2023—connects people seeking personal or professional guidance in tech with mentors ready to support them, especially those from disadvantaged communities or with additional barriers.

We’re not just building programs; we’re building a movement. Our team is made up of passionate volunteers who believe mentorship can open doors and change lives.

    Why Volunteer With Us?

    • Unique learning model: Every role is paired with a mentor–mentee collaboration. You’ll not only contribute but also learn directly from experienced professionals.
    • Real impact: Your work will help us reach more mentees and mentors, ensuring that underrepresented groups can thrive in tech.
    • Career growth: Gain hands-on experience working in a startup-like environment within the tech industry.
    • Flexible & remote: Contribute from anywhere, on your own schedule, while building a strong network.

    The Role: Volunteer Recruiter

As a Volunteer Recruiter at Wevise, you’ll play a key role in sourcing, engaging, and onboarding volunteers who align with our mission and values. This volunteer position offers the opportunity to drive diversity and inclusivity in the tech sector while gaining valuable experience in a mission-driven startup. Your work will directly support Wevise’s growth, expand your professional network, and provide a meaningful stepping stone in your career.

    You’ll work on:

    • Developing and implementing creative strategies to attract volunteers across multiple channels, including social media, job boards, community groups, and partnerships.
    • Actively sourcing and recruiting volunteers by screening applications, conducting interviews, and maintaining strong candidate pipelines.
    • Building and nurturing relationships with volunteer networks, educational institutions, local organizations, and other stakeholders.
    • Promoting Wevise’s mission and volunteer opportunities to diverse audiences through various communication channels.
    • Supporting an inclusive and supportive volunteer culture that values every contribution.

    What You’ll Bring:

    • Demonstrated experience in recruiting, sourcing, outreach, or a related field, preferably in tech or nonprofit sectors.
    • Strong understanding of volunteer engagement and best practices for recruitment.
    • Excellent communication, networking, and relationship management skills.
    • Initiative-driven with the ability to manage projects independently.
    • A genuine passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion in technology.
    • Commitment of 5–10 hours per week on a volunteer basis.
