Grant Researcher/Analyst (Gov & Privates)

Position Summary

The Grant Researcher & Analyst plays a critical role in strengthening Paraklet Inc.’s fundraising capacity by identifying high‑value grant opportunities, conducting donor analysis, and supporting the development of competitive concept notes and proposals. As Paraklet scales its women’s economic leadership and youth empowerment programs, this role ensures the organization is strategically positioned for institutional donors, foundations, USAID primes, and private philanthropic partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Grant Prospecting — Identify grants from foundations, INGOs, USAID primes, CSR programs, and private donors aligned with Paraklet’s mission and geographic focus.
• Donor Analysis — Review eligibility criteria, funding priorities, compliance requirements, and strategic fit; prepare donor profiles and summaries.
• Pipeline Development — Build and maintain a structured grant pipeline with deadlines, requirements, and submission timelines.
• Proposal Support — Contribute to concept notes, LOIs, and proposal drafts; collaborate with MEL and Finance to ensure donor‑aligned narratives and budgets.
• Research Documentation — Produce clear research briefs, opportunity summaries, and analysis reports for leadership and program teams.
• Strategic Coordination — Work with HQ and DRC field teams to gather program data, validate alignment, and strengthen organizational competitiveness.
• Grant Calendar Management — Maintain an updated calendar of deadlines, submission requirements, and donor engagement milestones.

Qualifications

• Required Skills — Strong research and analytical abilities; ability to synthesize complex donor information; excellent writing skills; familiarity with grant databases and donor portals.
• Preferred Skills — Experience with USAID, FCDO, EU, UN agencies, or major foundations; understanding of MEL frameworks; nonprofit development experience; French or Swahili proficiency.

Time Commitment

Flexible, typically 5–10 hours per week for volunteers; 10–20 hours per week for consultants depending on pipeline volume.

Volunteer/Consultant Status

Volunteer roles are unpaid. Consultants are compensated based on agreed terms. Volunteers and consultants are not employees of Paraklet Inc. and are not eligible for wages or employment benefits unless contracted.
