    Description

Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community? Traditional Hospice is extending an invitation to compassionate individuals to join our team as Hospice Volunteers. No experience is necessary - just a friendly smile, a listening ear, and a willingness to help!

    Our Hospice Volunteers:

    • Provide companionship and emotional support to enrich the lives of hospice patients.
    • Offer comfort to families and caregivers during difficult times.
    • Assist with non-medical tasks to improve the quality of life for patients.

    Why Volunteer With Us?:

    • Make a lasting impact in the lives of those in need.
    • Gain valuable experience in hospice care.
    • Receive comprehensive training and support from our dedicated team.
    • The schedule is flexible and can be made to meet your specific scheduling needs.

A volunteer visit looks like a conversation over a cup of coffee, holding a patient's hand to provide comfort, listening to a patient's life experiences, reading to or playing music for a patient, watching a movie together or playing cards/games with a patient. If you would like you can share a special skill or interest with a patient such music, art, light housekeeping, cooking, or yard work.

Volunteers never perform any hands-on care but provide our hospice patients with increased socialization/companionship in homes and nursing/assisted living facilities. Volunteers can also provide respite for family members to attend to important needs such as going to their own medical appointments, grocery shopping, or simply to rest.

Driving to and from the patient's residence is necessary for this volunteer opportunity, and mileage reimbursement is available.

If you would rather assist in our office in Dunmore, we are always in need of Office Volunteers.

The impact of a caring person is immeasurable. Please feel free to reach out with any questions. We are here to support you throughout your volunteer experience!

"The last good thing that may happen in a person's life is a hospice volunteer." -Unknown Author
