Seeking experienced interns to assist with fundraising for small women led nonprofit

Our mission is to empower women and girls to be the ultimate versions of themselves despite their adversities. We offer free counseling, support groups, financial literacy workshops, and our youth programs. We are a community-led organization that believes in the power of "rising" above adversity through support, education, and connection.

Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate, proactive, and organized Volunteer Fundraising Assistant to help fuel our mission. In this role, you will work directly with our leadership team to help identify funding opportunities, organize creative campaigns, and build relationships with donors and sponsors. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to make a tangible, life-changing impact for survivors while gaining hands-on nonprofit development experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Donor & Sponsor Outreach: Draft warm outreach emails and follow-up letters to prospective individual donors, local businesses, and corporate sponsors.
• Campaign Support: Assist in the planning, coordination, and promotion of fundraising events and digital peer-to-peer campaigns.
• Grant & Funder Research: Search database registries to identify corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs, local foundations, and grants aligned with women’s empowerment and mental health.
• Database Maintenance: Keep our donor spreadsheet organized, tracking contributions, outreach dates, and follow-up tasks.
• Thank-You Logistics: Ensure our generous supporters feel loved and appreciated by helping draft and send timely donation acknowledgment letters and tax receipts.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Commitment to the Mission: A genuine passion for empowering female survivors and a desire to dismantle cultural stigmas surrounding trauma and abuse.
• Excellent Written Communication: Ability to write compelling, persuasive, and empathetic messages that tell the story of &Rise's impact.
• Basic Financial & Digital Literacy: Comfortable working with Google Sheets or Excel to track donation numbers, and comfortable learning basic email or donor software.
• Strong Organizational Skills: Highly reliable, detail-oriented, and able to manage deadlines for upcoming events or campaigns.
• Confidentiality & Maturity: Because &Rise works with a highly sensitive population, absolute discretion, respect, and trauma-informed maturity are strictly required.
• Proactive & Coachable: A self-starter attitude who is comfortable asking questions, sharing creative fundraising ideas, and receiving feedback.
