Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and draft legal documents such as MOUs, NDAs, partnership agreements, and sponsorship contracts
- Advise on nonprofit governance, bylaws, board responsibilities, and state/federal compliance
- Guide the organization through trademark, licensing, and intellectual property protections
- Provide legal support for grant agreements, fundraising initiatives, and donor relations
- Ensure risk management and liability protections for events, volunteers, and programs
- Assist with real estate and facility acquisition processes (e.g., property donation or lease agreements)
- Offer legal input on employment, independent contractor, and volunteer agreements
- Support policy and procedure development (e.g., privacy, refund, and media consent policies)
Qualifications:
- Active law license in Georgia (or ability to consult pro bono under supervision of a licensed attorney)
- Strong understanding of nonprofit law, 501(c)(3) compliance, and charitable organization regulations
- Experience with contracts, risk management, and governance for community-based organizations
- Excellent communication, attention to detail, and professional ethics
- Passion for advocacy, inclusivity, and supporting neurodiverse families
