    Description

As Transition Trails moves from its discovery phase to a year of product launches, we are seeking a volunteer Marketing & Branding Strategist to help refine our organizational voice and establish a lasting brand identity.

    Responsibilities

    • Brand Identity: Create a comprehensive, long-term brand kit that defines the visual and tonal elements of Transition Trails.
    • Voice Refinement: Review and refine the organization's unique voice to ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.
    • Strategic Growth: Collaborate with the leadership team to ensure branding efforts support the goal of scaling the Guided Trail program and launching new programs.
    • Collaboration: Coordinate with the Social Media Manager to ensure brand consistency across Substack ("Notes from the Trail"), LinkedIn, and future channels, such as YouTube and podcasts.

    Time Commitment

    • 3-6 Month Engagement

    Benefits

    High-Level Portfolio Building

Most volunteer marketing roles involve execution (posting to social media). This role is architectural.

    • The "Founder" Experience: You will create the foundational Brand Identity, including the visual and tonal brand kit. This is a massive "win" to showcase in a portfolio or on LinkedIn.
    • Multi-Channel Strategy: You’ll gain experience across a diverse ecosystem, including Substack, LinkedIn, and upcoming YouTube/Podcast launches.

    Strategic Influence & Autonomy

As a strategist, you aren't just taking orders; you are a key advisor to the leadership team.

    • Direct Impact: Your work on Voice Refinement will directly influence how the public perceives the organization during its critical 2026 launch.
    • Leadership Collaboration: You will work closely with the leadership team to ensure branding aligns with Strategic Growth goals, such as scaling the "Guided Trail" program.

    Professional Networking & Growth

Transition Trails is positioned at the intersection of community building and personal development.

    • Expand Your Network: You’ll collaborate with other specialized volunteers, like the Social Media Manager, and connect with a community focused on "intentional transitions."
    • Master New Platforms: If you haven't worked with Substack or built a brand for a Podcast/YouTube hybrid before, this is a low-risk, high-reward environment to master those skills.

    Mission-Driven Fulfillment

Beyond the resume, there is the intrinsic value of the work itself.

    • Support Human Connection: By refining the brand, you are helping more people find Transition Trails and navigate career transitions with support.
    • Flexibility: This is a Remote position with a manageable 3-6-month commitment, allowing you to give back without burning out.

    Qualifications

    • Proven experience in brand strategy, marketing, or creative direction.
    • Strong understanding of brand storytelling and "voice" development.
    • Ability to work within a volunteer-led ecosystem and coordinate via digital tools like Slack and Google Meet
