    Description

Nathan Adelson Hospice is one of our community’s most respected nonprofit organizations, devoted to providing compassionate end-of-life care.

As Southern Nevada’s largest nonprofit hospice—caring for more than 300 patients daily—we offer a broad range of meaningful volunteer opportunities.

    Opportunities include:

    Patient Support

    • Home Care Visits – Volunteer with a patient or family member to offer practical or emotional

support. Provides socialization for patients and relief to caregivers for errands, doctor

    appointments, meetings, personal care, etc.

    • Inpatient Unit Visits – Companionship and socialization with patients and families at one of our

facilities: University Center Drive or Tenaya Way. This may include passing meal trays as well.

    • Group Home or Nursing Home – Companionship and socialization for our patients in nursing or group homes.

Spiritual Support – Specific to chaplain volunteers. Offers support to patients and families as

    needed/requested.

Bereavement Support –May assist with Support Groups and/or calls to families after a patient’s

death to promote covered bereavement services.

Administrative Support – Data entry, filing, scanning, mailers, assembling document packets.

These services are typically needed at our facility located at 4131 University Center Drive, Las

Vegas, NV 89119, during our normal business hours (Mon-Fri., 9am-5pm).

Event Support – Help with NAH fundraising events (i.e., Butterfly release, Fashion Show, Wine

    Extravaganza).

Community Outreach Team (COT) – The COT team represents NAH at health fairs and other community

    events.

Camp Erin – Camp Erin is a three-day overnight camp for children and teens, 6 to 17 who have

experienced the death of someone close to them. Facilitated by professional staff from Nathan

Adelson Hospice and trained volunteers, Camp Erin is offered free of charge to children and teens

throughout Southern Nevada once a year in late spring/early summer. At Camp Erin, children and

teens have an opportunity to be around other children and teens who have experienced similar

losses. They participate in fun activities (archery, rock climbing, and arts and crafts) as well as

activities designed to help them understand and process their grief. Camp Erin is a partnership

between Nathan Adelson Hospice and The Eluna Foundation. Camp Erin volunteers will be subject to an

    additional application process.
