About the role:
We are seeking a dependable and organized HR Assistant to support our nonprofit’s human resources activities. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in gaining practical experience in human resources while contributing to the mission of a nonprofit organization.
Working remotely and under the guidance of the HR Specialist, the HR Assistant will provide administrative and organizational support across a variety of HR activities such as recruitment support, onboarding, and general HR coordination.
Responsibilities:
- Support recruitment activities, including tracking applicants, and conducting interviews as needed.
- Assist with routine HR administrative tasks and maintain organized digital records.
- Assist with onboarding activities for new volunteers.
- Help maintain volunteer information in accordance with organizational procedures and confidentiality requirements.
- Support the HR Specialist with volunteer engagement initiatives.
- Help keep HR policies, and internal documentation organized and up to date.
- Perform other HR support tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Interest in human resources, nonprofit administration, organizational development, or a related field.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
- Comfortable working with MS Teams, MS Office, and Outlook.
Time commitment:
Approximately 4–6 hours per week, with flexibility depending on organizational needs and the volunteer's availability.
