    Description

    Role Summary:

    Field Team Associates support research initiatives by conducting interviews, administering

    social-emotional learning (SEL) assessments, and collecting high-quality data to support

    program evaluation efforts. Depending on project assignment, field research associates may

    conduct interviews with individuals closely connected to program participants, administer

    benchmark assessments, and administer SEL assessments. This role requires interpersonal

    skills, high trainability, and strict adherence to MAP’s legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements

    for the collection, handling, and storage of human subjects research data.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct interviews with individuals closely connected to program participants using

    standardized research protocols.

    • Administer baseline and follow-up assessments in accordance with established

    procedures.

    • Accurately record responses and assessment results while maintaining a high standard

    of data quality, integrity, and confidentiality, as established by the research protocols.

    • Attend all training sessions and required project meetings.
    • Arrive to all scheduled on-site (within NYC) data collection slots on time.
    • Establish rapport with participants while maintaining professionalism and neutrality.
    • Strictly adhere to MAP’s data collection, confidentiality, storage, and security

    requirements, ensuring compliance with all legal, ethical, and regulatory obligations

    related to human subjects research.

    • Perform other related research support duties as assigned.

    Skills & Qualifications:

    • Must reside in or near New York City.
    • Must hold, or be able to obtain promptly, a CITI Human Subjects Research certification.
    • Interest in research and MAP’s mission.
    • Ability to travel to assigned research sites within New York City at least once per month.
    • Ability to build rapport with diverse individuals while maintaining objectivity.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately follow research protocols.
    • Experience working with children is strongly preferred, particularly in underserved

    populations.

    • Experience conducting interviews or administering surveys for research is preferred.
    • Experience administering academic or behavioral assessments is preferred.
    • Semi or full fluency in Spanish is a bonus.
    • Coursework in psychology, social psychology, education, human development, urban

    studies, anthropology, or a related field is a plus.

    • Proficiency with tablets , computers or web based data collection platforms is preferred.
