    Critical Events Coordinator

    About the Role

    The Critical Events Coordinator serves as a key member of ROYO’s Safety & Compliance function, responsible for supporting the organization’s readiness, response, and coordination during critical incidents and high-risk events.

    This role ensures that crisis protocols are followed, communication is clear and timely, and leadership is equipped with accurate information to make informed decisions while maintaining a calm, structured, and safety-first environment.

    Critical Events Management & Planning

    • Support the development and maintenance of crisis response plans (e.g., medical emergencies, safety threats, environmental events)
    • Ensure crisis protocols align with ROYO policies, compliance standards, and safety frameworks
    • Participate in scenario planning and tabletop exercises to strengthen organizational readiness
    • Supports and serves as key partner to the Director of Building and Grounds
    • Delivers crisis readiness trainings for volunteers

    Incident Coordination & Response

    • Serve as a coordination point during active incidents or critical events
    • Support real-time documentation of incidents, actions taken, and escalation steps
    • Ensure timely escalation to Safety Leads, Compliance, and Leadership as required
    • Help coordinate communication across teams during active situations
    • Assist in managing internal crisis communications (e.g., status updates, check-ins, alerts)
    • Track incident status, response timelines, and resolution outcomes
    • Support post-incident summaries and reporting for leadership and Compliance Committee review

    Post-Incident Review & Continuous Improvement

    • Facilities after-action reviews and identify lessons learned
    • Recommend improvements to protocols, training, and systems
    • Support updates to SOPs, training materials, and readiness frameworks

    What You Bring

    • 1 to 3 years as HR Coordinator
    • Strong ability to remain calm, organized, and solution-oriented
    • Excellent communication and coordination skills
    • High attention to detail, especially in documentation and tracking
    • Sound judgment and ability to escalate appropriately
    • Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information
    • Alignment with ROYO’s mission and values (Respect, Operational Excellence, Teamwork, etc.)

    Success Measures

    • Timely completion of incident reports (within 24 hours)
    • Crisis protocols are clear, accessible, and consistently followed
    • Clear escalation of safety concerns
    • Leadership receives timely, structured updates during critical events
    • Post-incident learnings are captured and translated into improved systems
    • Volunteers feel informed, prepared, and supported during emergencies
