Role

A friendly visitor is a compassionate soul who wants to serve the patient. A compassionate

presence that allows the patient and family to feel connected to their community. This flexible

and person centered role allows for individual volunteers to bring their strengths and

experiences to light, but no matter what their background the gift of their presence is the most

value.

Primary Responsibilities:

Compassionate presence for the patient and family

Assist patient in attending facility recreational activities

Support patient on their end of life journey as needed

Potential to provide light housekeeping if a home patient, or other services

Secondary Responsibilities

Simple documentation of the visit, form provided, to be submitted to the Volunteer Coordinator

No experience needed. A successful applicant will show a positive attitude towards patient care and be comfortable around individuals facing an end of life journey

Time Commitment

One time a week, or once every other week is preferred, but availability is negotiable
