    Description

     OHS E-Newsletter Editor

Do you love animals, have a way with words, and enjoy designing eye-catching layouts? Help us tell the stories of Tri-City companion animals and local wildlife from the comfort of your keyboard! Ohlone Humane Society (OHS) is looking for a creative, detail-oriented Volunteer Newsletter Editor. In this role, you will design our official e-newsletter, published at least quarterly, celebrating everything from kitten adoptions to the rescues coming out of our Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, fundraisers and special OHS events.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Use Canva or other software to create visually engaging pages, layouts, and graphics that pull readers into our mission.
    • Work alongside our program managers and volunteers to gather heartwarming companion volunteer stories, animal rescue stories, crucial wildlife updates, and highlights from our events, public relations, spay-neuter, pet meals on wheels, foster kitten adoptions, TNR, pet therapy, special assistance, fundraising, marketing and humane education.
    • Be willing to learn to drop graphic creations into our electronic email templates to reach our dedicated community of members and animal advocates.

    Who Should Apply

    • Have a passion for animal welfare with a commitment to the safety and welfare of both domestic companion pets and native wildlife.
    • Be familiar with Canva or similar graphics software (or a very strong willingness to learn its drag-and-drop newsletter builder).
    • History of excellent writing and proofreading skills and an eye for clean, modern digital presentation.
    • Be reliable and organized enough to manage at least quarterly publication schedules and coordinate with team members independently.

    Required Time Expected:

    • Flexible! approximately 2–4 hours per week leading up to the quarterly publication or special e-newsletters.
    • Virtual orientation and brief monthly report and meeting
