    Description

    Sheldon Peck Homestead Docent

    The Sheldon Peck Homestead is the oldest home in Lombard, IL. Docents greet guests as they enter the homestead, answer questions, and provide a welcoming environment. Volunteers must be able to work independently as the homestead is located offsite from the main Museum campus.

    Training is provided.

    The Peck Homestead is registered on the National Park Service Network to Freedom as a verified stop on the Underground Railroad. Sheldon Peck was an abolitionist and an itinerant folk artist. This home tells the story of folk art through the eyes of Sheldon Peck. Visit the gallery telling the story of the abolitionist movement in the Chicago area.

    The Sheldon Peck Homestead is open Tues, TH & Sat from 12 - 4 pm February through November
