About the Campaign

Jose Elias-Torres is a write-in candidate for Lake County Commissioner District 2. The campaign is focused on protecting what makes Lake County home, demanding responsible planning, respecting taxpayer dollars, strengthening public safety, modernizing county government, and ensuring seniors and families are not left behind.

Because Jose is a write-in candidate, digital communication and voter education are especially important. The campaign is looking for a creative, dependable volunteer who can help turn campaign activities, community conversations, and candidate messaging into consistent and engaging digital content.

Position Overview

The Volunteer Digital & Social Media Coordinator will work directly with the candidate to help manage the campaign's organic digital presence.

The role will focus on content organization, social media publishing, short-form video, graphics, campaign storytelling, and voter education.

Previous campaign experience is not required. We are more interested in creativity, reliability, good judgment, attention to detail, and an understanding of how people communicate online.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include:

• Help maintain a campaign social media content calendar.
• Draft and schedule social media posts using approved campaign messaging.
• Create simple graphics using Canva or similar tools.
• Edit short-form videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, Facebook, and other platforms.
• Turn campaign events, candidate appearances, community conversations, and longer videos into reusable digital content.
• Organize campaign photos, videos, graphics, and other digital assets.
• Help repurpose content across multiple platforms.
• Support consistent write-in voter education.
• Monitor basic engagement and identify content that performs well.
• Help identify opportunities for timely, locally relevant content.
• Assist with responses to routine social media engagement when authorized.
• Maintain consistency in campaign branding, tone, and messaging.
• Coordinate with the candidate before publishing sensitive, policy-related, factual, or campaign-specific claims.
• Support other reasonable digital campaign activities consistent with the volunteer role.

Important Volunteer Expectations

This is an unpaid volunteer position.

The coordinator will not have independent authority to make campaign expenditures, purchase advertising, enter contracts, subscribe to paid services, or financially obligate the campaign without prior authorization.

Campaign account access may be provided based on responsibilities and demonstrated reliability. Access must be handled securely and may be limited according to campaign needs.

Factual claims, policy statements, responses involving controversial issues, paid advertising, and other sensitive campaign communications require campaign approval before publication.
