Volunteer Nonprofit Marketing and SEO Instructor

EcoServants® is recruiting volunteer Marketing Instructors to guide interns developing digital strategies that expand awareness of environmental issues and encourage public participation. Our Nonprofit Marketing program includes search engine optimization, keyword research, audience development, digital outreach, campaign planning, content performance, and mission-driven communications.

Volunteer Responsibilities

• Mentor interns in SEO, content marketing, keyword research, audience targeting, and digital marketing strategy.
• Help interns understand tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and SEO research platforms.
• Review marketing assignments involving competitor analysis, content recommendations, campaign planning, and digital performance.
• Provide constructive feedback grounded in evidence, ethical marketing practices, and measurable goals.
• Encourage clear documentation of research methods, assumptions, and recommended next steps.
• Support the development of accessible, mission-aligned outreach strategies.

How EcoServants® Operates

EcoServants® is a fully volunteer-powered, 501(c)(3) environmental nonprofit. Our remote interns typically join a four-month program and complete practical, published assignments that contribute to real organizational, educational, and conservation-related projects. Work is organized through our EcoServants® Intern Portal and assignment-based Kanban board, where interns review requirements, claim appropriate assignments, submit deliverables, and receive feedback.

Your Instructor Portal & Team Support

Approved Instructors receive their own secure Instructor account and access to the EcoServants® Instructor Portal (ecoservantsproject.org/instructors-portal/). The portal supports instructor onboarding and program-focused workflows. Instructors can support one program or an approved combination of programs, participate in relevant EcoServants® Team Chats, answer questions, and review submissions against the written assignment requirements.

You are not expected to develop an entire curriculum or teach scheduled classes. Most mentorship is flexible and asynchronous: clarify an assignment, suggest improvements, provide respectful and actionable review feedback, and coordinate with nonprofit managers when a decision requires management approval.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in digital marketing, SEO, communications, nonprofit marketing, analytics, or related disciplines. Familiarity with content strategy and online engagement is desirable.

This is a flexible, remote, unpaid volunteer opportunity. Your mentorship will help interns gain real-world marketing experience while increasing EcoServants® ability to educate, inspire, and mobilize people for environmental service. Help our environmental mission reach the communities that can benefit from it.

Instructor onboarding and access are provided to approved volunteers. This is an unpaid, remote volunteer role with flexible participation.
