    Description

The George Street Co-op — a cooperatively-owned vegetarian grocery store in New Brunswick, NJ — is looking for individuals to join our Membership Committee. If you have an interest in developing and implementing organizational policies, as well as supporting members and workers in a co-operative business, this is the opportunity for you!

The function of our Membership Committee is multifaceted and plays an integral role in our organization. Some of the tasks we work together to accomplish include...

    • Drafting policies to benefit our members as well as the Co-op business
    • Hosting monthly Orientation meetings to draw in new members as well as educate existing members
    • Keeping our database and Membership Manual up-to-date
    • Supporting the Co-op's members and staff to ensure that every Co-op member’s voice is heard

This opportunity is ideal for someone who has a background and/or interest in Public Relations, Public Policy, and/or Communications.

We are also seeking a volunteer with tech skills who can help us streamline communication between the Membership Committee and the Co-op community, as well as write code/programs to implement new initiatives.

We would love for you to get involved with the George Street Co-op in one way or another. Please reach out if you would like to learn more about this opportunity!
