    Description

The George Street Co-op is looking to build our Membership Committee.

If you have an interest in developing policies, implementing structural changes, and supporting members in a co-operative business, you will find stimulating work on this committee.

The function of our Membership Committee is multifaceted and plays an inegral role in our organization. We create policies to benefit the store as well as our members. We work with and support all of our members as well as our store manager and our volunteer workers, helping to ensure that every Co-op member's voice is heard. We keep our database current and our Membership Manual up-to-date. We host monthly Orientation meetings to draw new members as well as to educate existing members.

the Membership Committee is especially interested in volunteers who have tech skills and can troubleshoot issues when they arise. We also need a volunteer with the tech skills to support what would be required to implement new initiatives, to solve database issues, and to design and format our projects.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who has background and/or interest in Public Relations, Public Policy, or Communications. We meet virtually on the 4th Monday of every month at 8:15 pm (please check our calendar - georgestreetcoop.com/calendar - for changes). If this appeals to you, contact the Committee Chairperson at membership@georgestreetcoop.com.
