COAD Area I Foster Grandparent Program

We are placing volunteers in all 30 counties of Southeast Ohio. You will serve as mentors in preschool, head start, public elementary, and any educational facilities. They work with the teaching staff of the facility to mentor children with their educational needs depending upon their age group. You may help children in preschool with motor skills or learning their letters and numbers, in grade school with their literacy skills. Our goal is to help the children pass all of the requirements of their grade level to allow them to proceed to their next. You must be at least 55 years of age and willing to volunteer 15 to 40 hours per week. You will receive a tax-free stipend and mileage reimbursement. You will have to attend monthly training meetings. You will attend an annual recognition for your efforts. You must meet programmatic income guidelines and pass a background check.
