About the Role

Sunset Hospice is seeking kind, compassionate and dedicated volunteers to join our hospice volunteer team. Our volunteers provide companionship, comfort, active listening and support to individuals facing life-limiting illnesses, as well as their families. Your presence can make a profound difference during a deeply important time in someone’s life.

Volunteer Responsibilities May Include:

• Offering companionship through conversation + life review, art therapy, music therapy, reading, playing games or simply being present
• Supporting bereavement programs (if interested)
• Providing team support for caregivers
• Light administrative tasks

Who We’re Looking For:

• Caring, empathetic, and reliable individuals
• Good listeners who are comfortable offering emotional support to patients and families
• No medical experience required—just a compassionate heart

Training & Support

All volunteers receive comprehensive training to prepare you for your role, along with ongoing support from our hospice team. Transportation stipend provided.
