This is a deeply meaningful way to serve your community and honor life. Provide peaceful support and comfort to individuals in their final hours.
Vigil volunters offer quiet companionship, spiritual support, and dignity to helping ensure the goal that no one has to face the end of life alone.
What will you do?
- Provide bedside vigil for patients in hospice care
- Offer a calm, reassuring presence
- Support families and staff during these emotional moments
Vigil Volunteers are
- Empathetic, calm, and dependable individuals
- Comfortable with silence and emotional situations
- Respectful of diverse spiritual and cultural backgrounds
Training Provided
All volunteers receive specialized training in vigil practices, grief support, and spiritual sensitivity.
Volunteer when it works for YOUR schedule: Vigils are 4-6 hour shifts through the night when patients are very near the end of life.
