Position: Board President - Volunteer/non paid
Organization: Missouri Prison Books (MPB)
Location: St. Louis, Missouri
Mission: MPB is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that sends
reading material, by request, to incarcerated individuals in Illinois, Indiana,
and Kansas. We believe that access to books is a basic right, and we aim to
ensure that every person in prison has the opportunity to read, learn, and
engage with the world beyond their confinement.
Role Responsibilities: We are seeking a leader who is strongly committed to
our mission, is willing to guide the strategic direction of our program, and will
help support fundraising efforts in a team-oriented context. The Board
President works closely with the five members of the board, as well as our
Executive Director, to further the mission of the organization. As a team, we
put great emphasis on collaborative work, and welcome everyone’s skills and
contributions.
Commitment: 5-8 hrs/month * 2 board meetings/year * 3-year term
