    Description

    Client Intake Specialist- Escondido

    CLIENT Intake Volunteer -- Escondido

    Overview: An intake volunteer is essential to the service Interfaith offers to people in the community. With empathy and resourcefulness, an intake volunteer will provide intake, assessment, and referrals for the homeless and low-income population, with the goal of moving clients from crisis to self-sufficiency.

    Supervising Staff: Jessica Elliot-Pomerenke, Program Manager of Supportive Services

    Time Commitment:

    • This is an on-going (6+ months), weekly commitment
    • One day per week (day may vary depending on availability)
    • 8:30 am to 12:00 p.m.

    Key Responsibilities:

    ·Provide direct service to clients including assessment, referrals, and crisis intervention

    ·Provide guidance and support to help clients identify their own strengths and resources

    ·Work with a client advocate to ensure clients’ needs are met

    ·Identify resources and advocate for clients’ needs

    ·Link and network clients with resources within Interfaith and utilize other public and private social service agencies as necessary

    ·Attend and participate in mandatory training sessions

    ·Maintain accurate file notes and ensure the highest standards of client confidentiality at all times

    ·Input results from daily client registrations, assessments, and services delivered in to appropriate data bases

    ·Assume other duties as delegated by supervisors

    Training and Support:

    • General orientation on services and programs provided by supervising staff member.
    • Continued contact with a supervising staff member to answer any questions or discuss any concerns you may have

    Qualifications:

    ·Experience in social services needed

    ·Must clear criminal background check

    ·Good verbal and written communication skills in English

    ·Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a diverse population

    ·Ability to establish quick rapport with clients

    ·Knowledge of mental illness and substance abuse

    • Possesses strong attention to detail

    Screening Requirements:

    • FBI / DOJ Background check

    Private Group Details:

    • Event can be held at a volunteer group location (e.g. office, park)
    • Event can be held at organization location(s)
    • No Donation

    1 shift available:

    • One to two volunteers needed each weekday morning unti 1: 08:00 to 12:00 PST
