    Description

    Horse Handler

Are you a horse person looking to give back? Do you enjoy helping others succeed? Become a horse handler at TROT where you can assist our trained staff in providing safe and engaging horsemanship lessons to children and adults with special needs! TROT horse handlers will groom, tack up and lead horses during sessions, providing just the right amount of input to keep their equine partner on task and focused during lessons. This role is an integral part of TROT's volunteer team and as we continue to expand our reach, we are on the lookout for more qualified individuals.

Horse handler trainees will need to complete multiple practice sessions and pass a skills check before being cleared to horse handle in our sessions. The length of this process varies person to person as we want to set volunteers up for success and ensure all trainees are ready to take on the responsibility of handling a horse during class.
