Details
Description
Description:
We are seeking caring and reliable volunteers to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Holocaust survivors living in the Bronx. Through our Friendly Visiting Program, you’ll build a one-on-one connection with an individual who treasures conversation, kindness, and companionship.
Each week, you’ll spend about an hour visiting your match in their home. During your visits, you might share stories, play a card game, listen to music together, or simply provide a listening ear. These small acts of friendship go a long way toward helping combat social isolation and bring warmth and joy to someone’s life.
We currently need volunteers in:
- Kingsbridge Area
- Allerton/Bronxwood Area
Commitment:
- 1 hour per week
- Minimum 6-month commitment
- Completion of application, reference check, and background screening required
Why volunteer?
Your time and care will truly make a difference for someone who has lived through extraordinary history. You’ll not only brighten their day—you may find that these special connections brighten yours, too.
