    Description

Volunteers are a vital part of the Public Guardianship for the Elderly program. Individuals provide support to SETAAAD's guardianship program by volunteering as a Friendly Visitor or being active with administrative duties. As a Friendly Visitor, volunteers are paired with a guardianship client and spend time with them each month and identify any needs or concerns. The role of volunteers is beneficial to the operations of the program as an extra set of eyes of the client to identify any needs or concerns which otherwise may go unnoticed between visits by the district Public Guardian. Volunteers also build relationships with clients, helping reduce isolation and promote overall wellbeing.

    Public Guardianship Volunteer Description:

    • 18 years or older, accessible by cell phone
    • Complete application and background check
    • Orientation/Training
    • Dependable, calm demeanor and available during business hours
