Social Media & Marketing Manager

Stoop Stories connects New York City neighbors across generations and differences to reduce loneliness and increase compassion and joy. Through documentary stories and community events, we celebrate stoop culture and highlight underrepresented communities.

Who we're looking for:

A creative, story-driven volunteer to own our voice and presence across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube. This role is ideal for someone who's collaborative, takes initiative, and genuinely cares about the stories we tell, not just executing content, but helping guide it.

The ideal candidate has:

• A creative vision for growing our social presence, with an instinct for what resonates with our diverse, intergenerational NYC community
• Fluency across Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn (YouTube a plus), with a strong visual eye and comfort filming/editing short-form video (Reels, TikToks, Shorts, IG Lives); you do not need to be in front of the camera
• Skilled with graphic tools, content calendars, and basic production/editing, or willing to learn
• Comfort with scheduling and analytics tools (Later, Buffer, Meta Business Suite, or similar); a plus if you also know Asana, Monday, Canva, Wix, or Mailchimp
• A warm, human voice in writing, and a genuine passion for storytelling, NYC culture, and community building

Scope & Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage a monthly content calendar, creating and posting content, captions, and graphics across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube
• Repurpose existing content (docuseries clips, event photos, Collective stories) into fresh social content, or coordinate with filmmaker interns already doing this
• Interact with our community across social channels: respond to comments and DMs, tag and shout out partners, boost storytellers
• Support real-time social coverage of Stoop Stories events (festivals, screenings, exhibits) when possible, in collaboration with Collective volunteers
• Track performance metrics and recommend improvements to our social strategy as we grow
• When relevant, approach story subjects with care, since much of our content involves real community members sharing personal histories
• Maintain social media assets and databases (Google Drive, Asana, Monday)
