    Description

    Camp Ausome Volunteers Needed

If you are looking for a rewarding experience working with kids at a camp this is it! Camp Ausome's mission is to provide a safe space for children with autism ages 6-11, to engage in summer camp activities. Camp staff is required to complete orientation to ensure all camp expectations are clear and understood. Get ready for a fun week of activities with amazing kids!

The vision is to give children the opportunity to play safely with a compassionate staff that is aware of their abilities and needs. We want to give the children support in learning social skills and participating in activities. Camp activities would include free play, sports, music therapy, yoga, games and crafts. The activities will encourage participation at any skill level in a group setting. The goal is to be safe and have fun!

Expect campers to be able to engage in physical activity. The maximum number of campers is 12.

Volunteers will help facilitate activities, help engage campers and provide support for staff and campers based on qualifications. Volunteers will participate in activities to encourage campers. We welcome Volunteers seeking internship and practicum experience.

Specific skills that are a plus are autism experience and knowledge, crafting experience, first aid training, nursing skills, childcare experience, creative and outgoing personality.

We are willing to work shifts and will try to be flexible with volunteer schedules.
