Description
Volunteer Eucharist Ministers support and assist Saint Therese Pastoral Care staff when providing spiritual care to Saint Therese residents.
Responsibilities
- Assist with Mass and prayer services as a Eucharistic minister.
- Assist Pastoral Care staff as directed to provide consistent, supportive companionship to residents
Knowledge, Skill or Abilities Required
- Must have documentation of Eucharist Minister training.
- Respect for everyone’s faith or spiritual beliefs
- Patience to listen non-judgmentally to residents and their families
- Keen awareness and avoidance of any form of proselytization (faith conversion)
- Ability to identify the need for referrals to Pastoral Care staff
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines
- Understanding of state laws protecting vulnerable adults and reporting mandates
- Able to follow infection prevention and control procedures to minimize risk of disease transmission and maintain health and safety of residents, staff and volunteers
