    Description

    Littleton-Veteran Volunteer

We are recruiting Veterans to provide conversation and companionship to Veterans in our care. We are looking for individuals who want to visit our patients in local Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Facilities, their home or the home of a family member, all places where our Veteran patients reside.

Time commitment is a few hours/month. Varies, and is flexible with your schedule!

Hospice provides physical, emotional and spiritual support for terminally ill patients and their families. All volunteers receive specialized training and ongoing support and are an integral part of the hospice team of caregivers.

Help make a different in the lives of veteran patients and their families.

On your own time. In your own way. With your special skills. Help to make every moment matter.

    We value your service:

    • We are recruiting Volunteers who have served in the Military to help our hospice patients who are Veterans
    • Veterans may have unique needs at end of life
    • Your experience helps you relate to and connect with our Veteran patients and their families

    What hospice patients need:

    • A opportunity for life review and healing
    • Help documenting memories
    • Assistance with replacing lost medals
    • Appreciation for their service

    What you have to share:

    • Common life experiences
    • Shared language and service
    • A mutual code of conduct and honor
    • First-hand appreciation of their service
    • Cultural bonds to foster trust
