Description
We have a great opportunity for a volunteer to provide administrative support for our legal team, strengthening the department's operational efficiency. Duties include organizing files, completing data entry and more.
The role can be performed from home or at our Washington, DC office.
Requirements for our volunteers:
- Strong attention to detail
- Organizational, administrative and communication skills
- Able to use discretion, keeping in mind the confidential nature of some aspects of the work
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Able to follow processes and instructions
- Comfortable working collaboratively in a remote environment
- Prior exposure to legal, nonprofit, or estate-related work helpful
- Assist with organizing and maintaining electronic trust and estate files
- Perform data entry and tracking of estate-related information
- Help with document review for completeness (non-substantive)
- Support administrative processing of bequests
Commitment policy:
- Approximately 5-10 hours per week for three months
Restrictions:
- Must have access to a computer and the Internet
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- All volunteers must successfully complete a background check.
- We do not accept court ordered community service.

- After review of your application, a staff member will contact you to discuss the opportunity. If we mutually determine that the opportunity appears to be a good match, you will be asked to fill out an authorization form allowing us to carry out a background check.
- Before becoming an official volunteer, you must pass the background check, sign a volunteer agreement, and sign a waiver/release of liability.
