    Watts Library - Teach / Tutor at the library! No experience needed!

    Help us close the Literacy gap!!!

    Nearly one million adults in Los Angeles face literacy or language barriers.

    • No previous experience is required. Training will be provided.
    • Teach a class or tutor an adult one-on-one to help adults improve their reading, writing, and speaking skills.
    • Advise learners on study and life skills to encourage independent learning.
    • Use our curriculum and resources to plan engaging tutoring sessions.
    • Share information with learners about library services, programs, and use of resources.
    • Stay in touch with staff members who offer ongoing coaching and support.
    • Submit a monthly volunteer log to track your learner's progress.
