    Description

Circle of Care Volunteer Needed For Hospice!

At AccentCare Hospice of Connecticut, our volunteers bring comfort, dignity, and connection to patients and families facing the end of life. While many volunteers work directly with patients, this unique opportunity allows volunteers to provide support to caregivers and patients alike. The Circle of Care volunteer makes weekly check-in calls to all our patients who are at home. The volunteer ensures that both the patient and caregiver are comfortable, have the medications and supplies they need, and that they are well-supported.

If you are compassionate, professional, and enjoy helping others as part of a compassionate mission-driven team, this role might be for you!

    What We Are Looking For:

    • Detail-oriented and organized
    • Calm, mature, and supportive
    • Comfortable working independently on structured tasks
    • Reliable and able to maintain confidentiality
    • Friendly, warm, and aligned with a compassionate mission
    • The ideal volunteer candidate would have a previous background in healthcare

    What You'll Do:

    • Join us in our Middlebury office every Wednesday to make Circle of Care calls to hospice patients and their caregivers
    • Using a list of questions, check to make sure our patients and their caregivers are comfortable and have what they need
    • Document the calls using an electronic form (office laptop will be provided)
    • Report out any immediate needs to the Volunteer Supervisor

Comprehensive volunteer orientation, health screenings, and training is required and provided free of charge. As a member of our Hospice Interdisciplinary Team, ongoing support, and education opportunities are also available.

The time commitment for volunteering is a few hours each week on Wednesdays. Calls typically occur between the hours of 9am-1pm.

Should you or someone you know be interested in Volunteering or Interning with AccentCare, we would love to hear from you! We would be honored to speak with you about the many opportunities we have available and how you can make difference within your community.
