    Description

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Summer Youth Program Intern to serve as the backbone of our summer activities! This role is ideal for a high school senior or a college student pursuing a degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or Child Development who is looking to complete required service hours or build their resume.

In this role, you will be our "boots on the ground" from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. You will oversee the various volunteer groups scheduled to host activities, manage the flow of the day, and—most importantly—step in to lead the fun if a scheduled volunteer is unable to make it.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Program Oversight: Welcome daily volunteer groups, help them get set up, and ensure activities run smoothly and on schedule.
    • Activity Facilitation (Backup Lead): Be ready to pivot and confidently lead games, crafts, or educational activities if a scheduled volunteer does not show up.
    • Child Engagement: Act as a consistent, friendly face for the children, helping to gently redirect those who become distracted or frustrated.
    • Operational Support: Assist with basic setup, cleanup, and maintaining the organization of craft and activity supplies.

    What We Are Looking For

    • High school seniors or college students needing internship or service hours (especially those studying teaching, child psychology, or social services).
    • Someone with a flexible, "can-do" attitude who isn't afraid to jump in and lead a group of kids at a moment's notice.
    • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude when working with children experiencing transition.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills.

    Commitment

    • Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
    • This is a temporary summer commitment (ideal for June through August).
