    Social Media Intern / Volunteer

    About Us:

    The Empowerment Factory (TEF) is a non-profit dedicated to giving youth the skills they need to

    lead happier, healthier more empowered lives. We focus on three areas of development: creativity,

    self-esteem, and civic pride. Our Creative Squad programs blend hands-on activities with social

    emotional learning (SEL) and environmental education. Our vision is for every child to develop the

    confidence and ability to express themselves and become successful in school and life. Every child

    should feel that they matter and can make a difference in the world around them.

    Social Media Intern/Volunteer Description

    The Empowerment Factory (TEF) is a local non-profit looking for a passionate, creative, and innovative volunteer to assist in social media marketing. This internship/volunteer work is an excellent opportunity to be a part of a team that is making a positive impact in our community. while expanding your knowledge and gaining valuable experience. Interns/volunteers will work closely with the Executive Director. We are asking for a minimum of 4 hours per week and are flexible on what days and times.

    Responsibilities

    • Create content and posts for The Empowerment Factory social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn
    • Communication and outreach on social media with potential funders and program partners
    • Assist in planning, writing, and managing monthly newsletter via Constant Contact
    • Attend events to take photos, videos, and testimonials for social media content

    Qualifications

    • Must be self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, be able to prioritize.
    • Must have knowledge of social media platforms and best practices.
    • Desired but not necessary: Being able to use design software like Adobe suite.
    • Must be an effective communicator, both written and oral. Bilingual is a plus.

    Location is easily accessible by public transportation, directly on bus route and is wheel chair accessible.

    Remote work also available.

    Terms: Summer, Fall, Winter Session, Spring
