Description
Touch Tank volunteers interact with visitors to the Smithsonian Marine Ecosystems Exhibit and assist visitors at the touch tank, which houses animals including sea urchins, sea cucumbers and hermit crabs. Touch Tank Interpreters may also share information about our six Model Ecosystems and other aquaria.
Requirements: minimum age is16 years old; minimum commitment of 3 hours per week for 2 months; no shellfish allergy and ability to stand for extended periods. All volunteers are required to undergo fingerprinting and a background check.
