Description
Conduct research on assigned areas to discover the needs of refugees. Specific target groups include but are not limited to healthcare, literacy, and athletics. Following research, Consultants are expected to implement measures to address these needs.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct primary and secondary research on an assigned focus area, including interviews or surveys with refugee community members, partner organizations, or subject-matter volunteers where possible
- Synthesize findings into a brief (needs summary, key gaps, proposed response) to present to the Principal and broader team
- Design one actionable initiative per term that addresses a documented need — e.g., a tutoring curriculum, a recreation program, a health-education workshop series
- Partner with fellow Consultants to plan and execute approved initiatives, including logistics, materials, and volunteer coordination
- Track and report on the impact of implemented initiatives (participation numbers, feedback, outcomes) to inform future research and present to donors
- Maintain regular communication with the Principal on progress, blockers, and timeline
Qualifications:
- Hard-working high school students who are familiar with research-based roles
- Comfortable working independently on research and collaboratively on execution
- Reliable with deadlines and responsive in team communications
- Genuine interest in refugee education, human rights, or international development
