    Competition Support Volunteer

    About the Role

    Not Defined By FND is seeking volunteers to help support the launch and success of our first-ever national video competition, FND In Focus.

    This role is ideal for organized, creative, and detail-oriented individuals who want to contribute to meaningful advocacy work. Volunteers will assist with outreach, promotion, and behind-the-scenes competition support while working collaboratively with our team and fellow volunteers.

    Multiple volunteers will be needed for this role.

    Volunteer Responsibilities

    (Responsibilities may vary depending on interest, availability, and project needs.)

    Outreach & Promotion Support

    • Research colleges, departments, organizations, and businesses for competition promotion
    • Assist with identifying appropriate contact people for outreach
    • Help track outreach efforts and follow-ups in shared documents

    Marketing & Creative Support

    • Assist with creating promotional materials using Canva (graphics, flyers, social posts)
    • Help prepare and organize digital promotional packets
    • Support social media promotion efforts

    Competition Materials & Logistics

    • Assist with organizing participant packets and judge packets
    • Help ensure competition materials are up to date and accessible
    • Support the submission process and flag any issues

    General Support

    • Assist with judge outreach or tracking as needed
    • Help with administrative or organizational tasks related to the competition
    • Support additional volunteers and team members during busy periods

    Who We’re Looking For

    • Organized and reliable volunteers
    • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
    • Comfortable with research and basic tracking tasks
    • Familiarity with Canva is helpful but not required
    • Strong communication skills
    • Interest in nonprofit work, advocacy, media, or education
    • Passion for increasing awareness of Functional Neurological Disorder (lived experience not required)

    Support & Structure

    Volunteers will receive guidance, templates, and support from Not Defined By FND staff and will work as part of a collaborative volunteer team. Responsibilities can be adjusted based on availability and strengths.
