Who are we?
Youth Assisting Youth (YAY) is a non-profit organization that helps kids (6-15) succeed and reach their full potential. We match dedicated youth volunteers in 1:1 peer mentoring relationships with youth in their local community, and surround them with support, resources and connections that lead to well-being education and success.
What is your role?
- We ask youth mentors (16-25) to dedicate 10 hours each month for at least 1 year to support their mentee on a weekly basis
- Sharing your skills, experience, and hobbies to inspire youth and help with their confidence and independence.
- We also provide tons of free activities, events and programs that help mentors and mentees connect, share experiences and grow together in the community.
What are the requirements?
- You must be between the ages of 16 and 29.
- Living in the City of Toronto (Downtown, North York, Scarborough, and Etobicoke) or York Region
- Be able to provide 2 professional references (employers, volunteer supervisors, teachers/professors, etc.).
- You must be willing to complete a Police Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- Attend Training Sessions Online
