    Become a Hospice Patient Volunteer

    Provide Comfort, Connection, and Compassion

    Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community while making a genuine difference in someone's life?

    As an Alpha Omega Hospice Patient Volunteer, you'll become an important part of a patient's care team by offering companionship, support, and a caring presence to individuals facing serious illness.

    Why Hospice Volunteering?

    • Develop communication, empathy, and active listening skills

    What Do Volunteers Do?

    Provide companionship through:

    • Conversation and life-story sharing
    • Reading, music, games, and activities
    • Watching television together
    • Listening and offering emotional support
    • Simply being a caring presence

    No healthcare or volunteer experience is required.

    Volunteer Commitment

    • Flexible scheduling
    • Visit 1 time per week or 2 times per month
    • Typical visits last 30–60 minutes
    • Volunteer opportunities available near your preferred area

    What We Provide

    • One-on-one patient matching within approximately 15 minutes of your preferred location
    • Volunteer Coordinator accompaniment on your first visit
    • Ongoing support and guidance
    • Comprehensive training provided at no cost

    Requirements provided for FREE:

    • Online Application
    • Background Check
    • TB Test (Skin or Blood Test)
    • Drug Screening (THC not tested)
    • Driver's License
    • Online Volunteer Training
