    About AMI

    Founded in 1934, Agricultural Missions, Inc. works alongside grassroots communities in the U.S. and abroad to advance food sovereignty, rural leadership, and gender justice. We partner with youth farmers, women’s collectives, and rural organizations in places like the U.S. Black Belt, Sierra Leone, and Liberia, amplifying their voices and building sustainable, community-led change.

    Volunteer Opportunity

    AMI is seeking a Communications & Program Support Volunteer to assist with outreach, storytelling, and project support. This is a flexible, unpaid volunteer position for individuals who want to dedicate their skills to advancing food justice and international solidarity. Hours can be adapted to fit your schedule.

    Responsibilities

    • Support AMI’s communications team with social media posting, newsletters, and donor updates
    • Help coordinate logistics for U.S.-based events and 2025–2026 study sessions
    • Provide light research assistance on grants, food sovereignty issues, and partner organizations
    • Optionally, contribute photography, video editing, or writing support to amplify AMI’s stories

    Qualifications

    • Passion for grassroots justice, international development, or agriculture
    • Strong communication and organizational skills
    • Willingness to collaborate with a diverse team and global partners
    • Tech-savvy (Google Suite, Canva, or similar tools a plus)

    There is a stipend available for volunteers of $166 per month (10 hours per week x 4 weeks per month). We understand this is only a stipend and the reward for volunteering but it is our way of Thanking a dedicated volunteer. It is not a salary but we hope it can help the volunteer with any associated costs.
