Volunteer Drama Coach/Director for Seniors

Three Pillars Senior Living Communities is seeking a passionate and patient person with some experience related to theater/directing to lead our theater group or to lead improv classes for our independent residents at Village on the Square.

Duties include:

• - Help find scripts and then direct residents for rehearsals to perform without memorizing (some will memorize) about three plays each year or a combination of several shorter skits for each performance date. Also help plan & oversee simple scenery utilizing our backdrop, supplies and resident volunteers. Some residents have never done theater and this is a great opportunity for them to try something new and be proud.
• - Inspire creativity, build confidence, and create memorable experiences through theater arts. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of fun-loving older adults in multiple ways while improving their cognition and personal fulfillment. Meet monthly if possible and more often during performance season. Improv could meet based on availability, perhaps six times year. Improv interest is more using little fun exercises/games rather than doing skits/acting ... similar to what Comedy Spotz does.

We are flexible with scheduling and welcome ideas.
