Share Conversation, Music, and Memories with an Older Adult
Providence is seeking a caring and dependable volunteer to provide one-on-one companionship to an older adult in the Portland area. Regular visits can help create meaningful social connections and brighten someone's day.
Volunteer Activities:
- Engage in friendly conversation and active listening
- Share and enjoy music together
- Talk about sports and current games
- Look through photographs and reminisce about life experiences
- Provide consistent companionship and encouragement through social visits
Volunteer Preferences: We are looking for someone who:
- Enjoys building relationships with older adults
- Has a positive, patient, and compassionate approach
- Is comfortable with one-on-one visits
- Can provide consistent support and companionship
Shared Interests May Include:
- Music appreciation
- Basketball, baseball, and football
- Sports discussions and following local teams
- Family stories and reminiscing
- Looking through photo albums and discussing memories
