    Description

    The Community Engagement Coordinator plays a vital role in advancing Ministry in Motion’s mission by building strong community relationships and managing a dynamic volunteer program. This position is responsible for community outreach, partnership development, event coordination, and volunteer recruitment, training, and support. The ideal candidate is passionate about the arts, particularly dance, and believes in the power of community engagement to create positive change.

    Responsibilities

    Community Outreach & Engagement

    • Develop and implement strategies to engage local communities, schools, and organizations to promote awareness of Ministry in Motion’s mission and programs.
    • Conduct presentations and workshops highlighting the impact of dance on personal development and cultural exchange.
    • Serve as a liaison between the organization and community partners, maintaining strong and collaborative relationships.

    Partnership Development

    • Identify, establish, and maintain partnerships with local businesses, schools, community centers, and community leaders to expand program reach.
    • Collaborate with influencers and stakeholders to enhance organizational visibility and support.

    Volunteer Recruitment & Management

    • Recruit volunteers from diverse backgrounds to support community engagement activities, events, and performances.
    • Conduct volunteer interviews, orientations, and onboarding to ensure alignment with the organization’s mission.
    • Provide training and ongoing support to equip volunteers with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
    • Foster an inclusive, supportive, and positive volunteer culture.

    Coordination & Scheduling

    • Create and maintain volunteer schedules to ensure adequate coverage for events, performances, and programs.
    • Communicate assignments, expectations, and schedule changes clearly and effectively.

    Event Planning & Support

    • Plan and coordinate community events, performances, workshops, and fundraisers in collaboration with staff and the artistic team.
    • Coordinate and supervise volunteer activities during events, providing guidance and on-site support as needed.
    • Tailor events to meet the needs and interests of diverse audiences.

    Communication & Marketing

    • Maintain open and transparent communication with volunteers and community partners.
    • Develop and manage communication channels, including social media, newsletters, and community outreach platforms.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials that effectively convey the organization’s mission and impact.

    Volunteer Recognition

    • Implement volunteer recognition and appreciation initiatives to acknowledge contributions and celebrate achievements.
    • Regularly express gratitude and provide feedback to ensure a rewarding volunteer experience.
